Midweek at Christ Church
We don’t just meet on Sundays! Here is a summary of other activities at Christ Church that happen midweek:
We love to pray! Prayer is an essential part of our lives as Christians and everything we do has to be covered in prayer! Meetings are run throughout the week at different times in both churches to make them as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. ATM also has ‘Open to God’ evenings about 4 times a year where the Church comes together to seek God and receive words of prophecy and words of knowledge. We also love the 24-7 prayer initiative and have run regular prayer rooms. We are continuing to discover creative ways to connect with God.
Ever Been nicked? Done Time? Need a chat? Join us at the Freedom Forum. Hear real stories of how some of the most hardened criminals have been transformed by Jesus Christ. Every Thursday at 2pm in the church lounge. Call Daz on 07597 309663.
Twice a Month, usually on the 1st & 3rd Friday, the men of the Church get together to pray at CCA. Social events are arranged from time to time, usually involving a curry and a pint in the local pub. Please speak to either Jeff Maskell, Dave Banks or Bill Woodman for more details.
We believe that smaller groups are really important and a good place to get to know people better! There are several Home Groups that meet fortnightly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Wednesday day-time. The groups can follow a set programme or choose their own study material. One of the main aims of homegroups is to provide fellowship and support, both practically and prayerfully. They are an excellent way of getting to know a small number of people well, and form the basis of Pastoral Care in ATM.
The Pastorate group that meets in the local pub alternate Thursdays.
ATM. Youth – Boys Home Group
This group of young men are aged 13+ and meet every Tuesday at the church. They are able to let of steam with a good game of football and then sit down for a time of discussion and debate on subjects they choose and want answers to. This time of discipleship and prayer support helps the boys grow in relationship with each other and with God.
The youth love socials too and often in school/college holidays they will meet up for bowling, cinema trips and maybe even a game of Qasar!
Parent/Carer, babies & toddlers up to 4 years old. This runs on a Thursday morning from 10am – 11.30am (term time only). Help is always welcomed. If you could help with drinks, put out and tidy away or be around to chat to the adults whilst the children play, the leaders would love to hear from you.
We love Alpha! Alpha is a 12 week course that explores the basics of the Christian faith. It is ideal both for non-Christians who have lots of questions and no answers as well as for Christians who want to have solid foundations to their faith. We begin a new course in September every year and quite often we run a course after Easter too! The evening begins with a meal together, followed by a talk and then group discussion. New friendships are formed and this is a great way to start getting involved with the church! All ages are welcome! For more information see Matthew Fitter.
Now Every Tuesday! at 1pm in The Hive. No Charge!
Our lounge is open every Monday & Wednesday (except Bank Holidays) mornings for coffee, tea, snacks and soup. It is a place to meet others and find a listening ear. Everyone is welcome! Do pop in for a drink and chat, or you can volunteer to help in the kitchen or be available to talk to visitors.
The group is open to anyone of any age who would like to meet others for a chat, friendship or even a board game challenge! This group meets on a Monday afternoon once a month in the lounge at CCA.
This runs once a week on a tuesday afternon at 1.15pm (term time). All abilities are welcome from the novice to the accomplished – all you need is enthusiasm! Some of the work produced by the group has been sold at our craft fairs.
Messianic Worship Group
Meet at Christ Church 1st Tues of month at 8pm. We are a group of believers in Jesus who value the Hebraic roots to our faith and wish to use Messianic music to worship God. This music consists of Scriptural songs so, we are dancing and singing the Word, because we want to express our hearts of worship to the LORD.
